Despite not strictly adhering to Robert Jordan's novels, The Wheel of Time season 2's Moiraine change can actually help the series and story as a whole. And yet, given both the role that Moiraine plays in the wider Wheel of Time story and the problems faced by shows like Game of Thrones when ignoring and abruptly returning to ongoing character arcs, this feels like an especially shrewd move.
Given her prominence in season 1, as well as Pike's status as a performer, this is perhaps an unsurprising change. Despite hardly being in the second of the original Wheel of Time book series, The Great Hunt, Rosamund Pike's Moiraine looks set to play a pivotal role in the Amazon adaptation.
